SPARTAN GIRLS FINISH SECOND IN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP

Spartan girls win five events at the District Championship Saturday. In the 200 Medley Relay Katelyn Fessenden, Mycah Ellis, Allyson Stansell and Rena French were winners as were Alana Baldwin-Joiner, French, Ellis and Stansell in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Individual winners were Ellis in the 100 Butterfly and the 100 Breaststroke and Stansell in the 50 Freestlye with Rena French coming in second.

Championship points were awarded to the top twelve finishers. Earning points for Hilhi were Baldwin-Joiner seventh in the 200 Freestyle followed by Maya French in ninth. Fessenden placed sixth in the 100 Butterfly, Stansell was second in the 100 Freestyle with Rene French right behind in third, in the 500 Freestyle Baldwin-Joiner was sixth with Maya French in seventh, Fessenden was fourth in the 100 Backstroke with Crystal Kociemba in tenth, and Julianne Claybaugh was ninth in the 100 Breastroke. The team of Fessenden, Claybaugh, Kociemba and Baldwin-Joiner were fifth in the 4 X 100 Freestyle Relay.

Coach Anderson said, “The girls all had terrific swims. I am so proud of all of them.”
