Hilhi boys basketball season came to an end. Although the ending wasn’t what the team expected, they showed a great improvement the last half of the season. Finishing with an overall record of 6-18, and a league record of 3-11. The last 7 league games were very different than the first 7. The chemistry was much better after a couple of personnel changes. Vincent Felder, and Luke Paris, the only seniors, deserve a special kudos. During their high school careers they had 3 coaches. They could have easily called it quits. But, they hung around and finished what they started. Congrats and thank you both!
The young team will have several returnees for next year. Giving the team something they haven’t had in a while, some experience. Led by Nate Smith, and Kane Kiaunis. Nate was selected to the 2nd team All NWOC, and Kane, Honorable Mention. Even though the league record wasn’t the best, the league coaches recognized and applauded their efforts. Congrats to both. Along with Nate and Kane, other returnees include: Elliot Hildner, Lane Smith, Jacob Cooke, Andre James, Logan Jackson, Slade Shufelt, and Leron Richards. All saw significant varsity action. This offseason provides an opportunity for improvement. Bigger, stronger, faster is the theme. They all will stay hungry to improve. Here’s to next year!
